The second edition of the “Alentejo Border Castles and Fortresses Event” took place on the 11th and 12th of May at Ouguela Castle, re-enacting the era of the Portuguese and Castile conflict of 1383-85 – Constable Route and Treaty of Windsor.
It involved over two dozen local participants and producers who, during the weekend, in the natural surroundings of Ouguela’s historical heritage, re-enacted the era and welcomed hundreds of visitors who came to the event from various parts of Alentejo and from Spain.
On Saturday night, a music concert took place at the Ouguela Main Church – from medieval times to the Renaissance – where dozens of people enjoyed the musical revival of times gone by.
